Youth Information Centre, Zanzibar

The Zanzibar project consists of the establishment of a Youth Information Centre at a strategic location in Zanzibar town.  The vision is for this centre to be a meeting place for young people of all backgrounds and the location is extremely useful for all.  The plans are to run an internet café, a bookshop, a kindergarten, and work among children, led by the local Scripture Union staff worker.  The Trust have made grants to the centre and also have been instrumental in obtaining financial assistance from other partners.

The Centre is right in the middle of a busy shopping area, ideally located in every way for its purpose.

In response to the Imbaseni Trust's appeal, over £55,000 has been raised from a number of different supp-orters and the centre is very near completion, with only the water connection and floor tiling to be finished. Our grateful thanks to all who have generously contributed to what will be a wonderful asset to the work in Zanzibar.
