The Imbaseni Trust made a grant towards the tiling of the floor of the Conference Centre (below) at the Imbaseni Centre. This is much appreciated by those who use the Centre.

Inspecting the Conference Hall with Centre Director Peter Cherra is Eva-Maria Munzinger of Hilfe fur Bruder, the German organisation who have generously supported the contruction of all the dormitories at Imabseni, as well as this Conference Hall.

The Imbaseni Centre was started in 1984, as the vision of Scripture Union of Tanzania.  The project began in a small way with a refurbished lorry being sent from Scotland to carry building materials and serve as a means of income generation.  An engineer went from Scotland as a volunteer to help start the building project.  He helped establish the garage, a workshop, a milling machine (given by World Vision) and an office.

Money was raised to support him at youth holidays being run by Scripture Union Scotland. Building on that successful start, Tear Fund contributed to enable the work to progress further and an experienced builder (with his family) carried on the supporting work over the next 3 years. Much of this stage of the work was funded by the then Overseas Development Administration of the UK government. Later Hilfe fur Bruder contributed funds for the dormitories and the Conference hall
